1. Introduction
Claude Project Downloader ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting it through compliance with this policy. This policy describes the types of information we handle and how your data is processed when you use the Claude Project Downloader Chrome Extension (the "Extension").
2. Data Collection and Handling
We believe in data minimization and user privacy. All core file processing—including intercepting, converting, zipping, and downloading project files—happens entirely locally within your browser. This file content never leaves your device.
To enable and manage our Pro features, the Extension securely transmits licensing data to our payment and license providers for activation and verification. Pro is sold through Dodo Payments, which acts as the Merchant of Record for the purchase. Freemius was the previous provider and remains active for licenses bought before the switch.
Local Processing
The Extension temporarily processes your Claude project and document data directly in your browser. This data is converted and zipped on your local machine and never leaves your device.
License Verification
When you activate a Pro license, your license key or account identifier is sent to Dodo Payments (or, for older licenses, Freemius). This data is used solely to validate your license and is never sold.
No Tracking or Analytics
We do not track your usage, clicks, browsing history, or run any advertisements. Your downloading activity remains private.
Minimal Scope
Outside of necessary license activation details sent to our payments and licensing provider, we do not collect or store your personal information.

3. Required Permissions
activeTab:Query the active Claude tab to retrieve the project file list when the icon is clicked.
downloads:Save generated ZIP/individual files to the device.
storage:Store the user's license status (Free/Pro) and daily free-download count locally on the device.
host_permissions: https://claude.ai/*:Read project/document data from the active Claude session to list and retrieve files.
4. Third-Party Services
We use Dodo Payments as our payment provider. Dodo Payments acts as the Merchant of Record for Pro purchases: checkout happens on their own page, and they process your email and payment details to create and manage your license. We never see or store your full payment details. See the Dodo Payments Privacy Policy.
Freemius was our previous payment and license-management provider and remains active only for licenses purchased before the switch. When such a license is activated or verified, the license key or account identifier is sent to the Freemius API solely to validate it. See the Freemius Privacy Policy.
Additionally, the Extension interacts with Anthropic's claude.ai web interface to function. Your use of Claude is governed by Anthropic's own privacy policy and terms.
5. Changes to Our Privacy Policy
We may update our privacy policy from time to time if the functionality of the Extension changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new privacy policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
